A student's writing skills can be improved through the use of web logs. Web logs give students the room for freedom of speech and the ability to expound upon their interests. When writing about a topic of interest for a student, a deeper level of writing is taking place. This level of writing with desire provides the student to thoroughly express their ideas in detail. The passion and fire that a student has for a particular topic is shown through their blog and can essentially be the main force that drives a student to write. The organization of their writing can indefinitely be improved because of the students desire to chronologically give order to a story or a situation, and blogging is an area where those skills are practiced. Not only is chronological order improved but also imagery. Imagery is essential when describing a situation to give the audience an image of what was taking place, just as chronological order is important. Through blogging the passion of writing is encouraged without the pressure of knowing you "have" to do it.
I enjoyed the informality of blogging. Through blogging I was able to write about my topics of interest. This process of writing helped me express my ideas and interest without feeling that is was very formal. With blogging it was easier for me to take my interests in put them into a more formal setting when it came time to write an essay. Being able to fully expound my ideas in a different format was encouraged through blogging and it was a place where I could be me without being criticized.
